SIP Poster Submission Guidelines

Poster Deadline

  • Posters must be submitted IN PERSON. Emailed posters are not accepted.
  • If you are unable to submit the poster in person, contact Kathryn to make other arrangements.

Submitting Poster and Printing a Proof

  • Login to a computer (mac or pc) in the Center for New Media Design.
  • Open the poster.
  • Print an 8.5x11 proof, which gives you a final opportunity to review the poster for errors and make corrections.
Items to review:
  • SIP poster size is 48”L x 36”H 
  • Minimum 1/2” margin at top/bottom and left/right sides of poster
  • Spelling, special characters
  • Minimum 24-pt type for body text, 48-pt type for headings, 72-pt type for title
  • After the final review, the file is saved to a shared folder in the Center.

File Format and File-Naming

  • Save poster as either PDF (preferred format) or PPTX (PowerPoint).
  • Save your file using this naming convention: lastnameFirstname-Symposium2024
    • Example: smithJohn-Symposium2024.pdf or smithJohn-Symposium2024.pptx

Reviewing Past SIP Posters

Access symposium posters from previous years online at CACHE, Kalamazoo College’s Digital Archive. You will need to login to view the posters. Use your Kalamazoo College network ID and password.
