The College Bookstore has the official textbooks for K College classes.

Your required books might be available through the Library

• eBooks can be used after you login using K College credentials.
• Physical books may be held behind the Circulation Desk on Course Reserves or on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

Some things to remember:

• Course Reserves can be checked out for 2 hours at a time.  Overdue fines are $1.00 per item per hour.
• Not all courses will have materials on reserve.
• You cannot place a hold on reserve items.
• There are a limited number of copies on reserve for your entire class to use.

K College Library is part of a network of Michigan libraries that share resources.

Remember to use the barcode on your K ID to request materials from MeL.

Please keep the following in mind:

• Textbooks borrowed from other MeL libraries can be checked out for 4 weeks.  You may renew the item unless the original library needs it back. 
• A keyword search using author AND words from the title is usually the best way to find your books.  Be aware that there may be multiple editions and publication years.  Ask your instructor if an older edition is acceptable.
• MeLCat items belong to other libraries and require prompt return. Overdue materials may be subject to replacement charges of up to $100 per item and a suspension of MeLCat borrowing privileges.

Your local public library has eBooks as well as a large collection of physical items. K students can get a public library card.

K students help each other!

• Talk to other students, especially upper-class students. Many are willing to sell or exchange textbooks. 
• Post a question on the K Student Body Facebook page. 
• Be cautious of online sites promising free access, some are not legal.

This free & open resource sometimes contains a scanned version of the book you need.
