Off-Campus Access

Off-Campus Access to Resources

Current students, faculty, and staff may access *most of the Library's databases, journals, and eBooks from off-campus. (*exceptions listed at bottom of page)

  1. Make sure to start your search at the Library's website or a library research guide, rather than starting at Google or a web address.

  2. If you select a library resource that requires authentication, you will be taken to a login screen asking for your Kalamazoo College username and password. This authentication process tells our databases you're part of the K community and should be granted access.

  3. Sign in with your username and password. This is sometimes called your KNET username, KNET ID, or KNET account.

          * Student usernames appear like this:
k21xx00 (where 21 is your year of entry, xx is your initials, and 00 is two digits).
          * Employee usernames appear like this:
khornet, where k is first initial, and hornet is the last name.

  4.  off campus login screen

  5. Once authenticated, you should be forwarded to the resource and granted the same access as if you were located "on-campus."

*If you have any problems accessing resources from off-campus, or have any questions, please contact us at library@kzoo.edu.
