Before the Library can switch to the new system, all outstanding MeLCat loans must be returned. Processing returned materials can take several weeks due to late returns and missing materials. On March 21st, 2018, MeLCat services from the Kalamazoo College Library will be suspended temporarily (just after Winter Quarter finals). MeLCat services will resume in August 2018, once the new system is up.
Yes! Kalamazoo College students, faculty, and staff will still have access to MeLCat resources through the Kalamazoo Public Library (KPL)!
You must pick up and return items at a Kalamazoo Public Library location (the downtown library or any branch).
You can still use Interlibrary Loan for academic materials that will be delivered to the Kalamazoo College Library.
If you want to use MeLCat but have a physical limitation that prevents you from easily going to the Kalamazoo Public Library, please let us know so we can help you obtain MeLCat resources.

Please remember that if you have overdue or lost MeLCat items requested through the KPL, you will accrue a fine with the KPL according to their policies.
Students and staff will NOT be able to borrow materials from WMU with their Kalamazoo College ID until MeLCat service is restored in August 2018.
Faculty will be able to borrow materials from WMU with their Kalamazoo College ID if they request to check them out outside the MeLCat system (through a faculty reciprocal borrowing agreement between K College and WMU).
Non-Kalamazoo residents have the choice to use their local library for MeLCat (if that library participates). If you are not registered as a patron at your local public library, you will need to do so in order to use MeLCat.
