Finding Book Chapters

Finding Book Chapters, also called Book Articles:

To find chapters within books, use Library OneSearch and do a keyword search on your topic, whether your topic is an idea, a period of history, or a person. A keyword search will search multiple fields of the record for a book, such as title, author, contents note, etc.

Example: Chernobyl

A keyword search on chernobyl returns 35 records, one is for the following book:

Catastrophe & Culture: the anthropology of disaster; edited by Susanna M. Hoffman & Anthony Oliver-Smith; call number HV553 .C275 2002

Chernobyl does not appear in the book title or in the subject headings, but it does appear in the following chapter title, which may be of interest:

"Bounding Uncertainty: the post-Chernobyl culture of radiation protection experts" by Sharon Stephens

Book Chapters are indexed in America: History & Life and Historical Abstracts as well.

In America: History & Life and Historical Abstracts, you can limit your search to book chapters by choosing "Book Chapter" in the Document Type drop down box.

Note: Don't forget to use Print and Online Bibliographies
